Едно писмо на председателя на МПО Пандил Шанев до генералния секретар на Обществото на народите (ОН) сър Ерик Дръмонд за положението в Македония:

You are aware that the largest part of our country Macedonia is comprised within the limits of Yugoslavia whose authorities destroyed all our cultural monuments and possessions there. Their next step was to attempt an insidious spiritual conversion by making us from Bulgarians, Aroumanians, etc. into pure Serbs. The latter they did not succeed to attain until the present time. We assure you it will never be attained. It has resulted, however, into a wholesale enslavement of our people, the likeness of which is not to be found neither in the present nor in the past of the world. A ceaseless series of murders, tortures, imprisonments, wicked punishments, plunders, dishonesty, etc. are being perpetrated in Macedonia under Serbian authorities without foundation and judicial sanction and these iniquities follow from the day of its fall under the yoke of Serbia until the present time.
By armed force and terror, the government drives the oppressed population into a moral and material degradation. We do not need to remind you that if the Macedonians were Serbians, it would have not been necessary to build in all the cities of Macedonia huge barracks and fill them with numerous armies from old Serbia, to have all roads, railroads, bridges, tunnels, depots, and other public buildings guarded by machine guns and rifles. Only a foreign population could be governed in this fashion.
The instinct of personal and national self-preservation prompted the Macedonians towards a struggle which for the impossibility of being a legal one in the country, became then and there the struggle of the Macedonian people expressed in the activity of the internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization.
This illegal armed and revolutionary struggle Mr. Voya Marinkovitch, the Yugoslav Minister of Foreign Affairs and Delegate to the League of Nations, had in mind when during May of this year he made his declaration before the foreign correspondents of Geneva. He presented it as the activity of a Bulgarian Organization, which from the territory of the Kingdom of Bulgaria "attacked" his country and had the audacity to remind that if this evil was not done away with by direct negotiations and understanding with Bulgaria, he would be constrained to demand the intervention of the Council of the League of Nations.
This is precisely what makes us draw your attention again to the fact that the Macedonian immigration of the United States of America and Canada desires an impartial investigation and intervention of the League of Nations.
A comprehensive investigation in Macedonia under Yugoslav authorities will establish everything that we have brought out in our numerous appeals and statements. It will check also the facts which the special delegation of the Bulgarians from Macedonia brought out in their petition and their memoir of this year. It will establish the true reasons for the discontent and revolutionary struggle of the enslaved population. The Central Committee is convinced that no negotiations between Bulgaria and Yugoslavia will eliminate the evil of the Balkans - the Macedonian struggle - unless the national enslavement of Macedonia is done away with. For the lack of peace in Macedonia the only responsible factor is Belgrade and its system of government which forces the assimilation of our population and does not act in accordance with the avowed purpose of the League of Nations and the requirements concerning the minorities of the St. Germain treaty...
